Poker Night

It is 5:45am and I just got back from the casino. Very scary start! Every single one of my good hands got cracked. Nut flush, dealer pairs the board for the full house. Set of fives, player has a set of kings. Pocket aces, two kings on the flop.

After losing every hand I played, I realized something…Playing the best hand pre-flop and on the flop is not working. I was down to $65 dollars in chips and decided to switch my game up. All the players at the table seemed to sympathize with me because they saw I had the best hand every time I turned my hand up, only to be sucked out on by someone. I figured they marked me as a tight player and I used that image to my advantage. I started bluffing every 4 hands. Sometimes I would raise $100 on the flop if someone put out $25 and there were 3 callers. One person would call my raise and an Ace or a King came on the flop I would raise to all in. That worked very well at this table but it made me a little upset that I wasted my money played the best hands earlier.

To my friends and family, you know who you are. This is just a trial run at the game since its been about 3 weeks. I am not going to be playing very often. I just love the game and felt like I was losing some skill set by being away so long. I also had this sense of fear of poker, like i was unlucky. I needed to get that out of my head.

update:

Sorry If I wasn’t clear, I left with $1600, profit of $1100.
