A few weeks back I was upset with poker because of some tournaments I took place in. I played for 6 to 12 hours in those tournaments and each time I knocked out either one place or a few places short of the prize spots. After playing that long and not winning something, I got annoyed and have not been back to play since.

Well tonight is my return to the cash game table. Tonights choice: 2 / 5 NL Holdem. Tonights buy in: $500. It is exactly 11pm and I am heading out to the casino. I will post my results when i return.

I have been playing a few big tournaments in poker recently. The tournment experience for me has always been a good one. On these last four tournaments the experience has been anything but good. The first tournament I busted out in the middle of the crowd because of my lack of knowledge about who I was playing. There is a type of player that always continues to beat me, this type of player is the kind who is still a beginner and does not understand what bets mean. If I raise with top pair and top kicker, there is no reason to call a high raise because you have middle pair. (more…)
